This is what is going on in my garden September 2017!
Harvesting:
- Carrots
- Cayenne peppers
- Thai peppers
- Parsley (looks fabulous)
- Basil (bolting)
- Tomatoes
Planted:
- Bunching Onions from grocery store
- Pineapple – 2
- Taro plant
What am I doing?:
- Began direct composting in beds and side yard to improve my dirt (see post on direct composting)
- Getting rid of a lot of grubs in raised beds
- Ordered seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds
Musings:
- Still have some flowers in the garden!
- One Foxglove (have 4 total, but 3 are really pretty green foliage, but no flowers) – picture below
- Fuchsias – Blacky, Lisa, and Mary Ellen Guffy – all doing very well
- Parrot plant is looking healthy but not flowering
- Have not dug up my Dahlias nor started composting by the windows
- Rudbeckia is blooming – love this plant
- Marigolds doing well, have 2 varieties
- Nasturtium doine well and growing long
- Echinacea – hot pink variety doing fabulously – orange one looks dead
- Butterfly bush is still blooming
